What We do

Southwest Visions Foundation utilizes the avenues available through Baltimore County and the State of Maryland to obtain funding and resources for projects and improvements across Southwest Baltimore County. Our current list of progress and endeavors are below.
  • Origin

    Southwest Visions Organization was founded in 2016 as a 501c3 non-profit in the state of Maryland to address the great need for sustainable development in Southwest Baltimore County.

  • Sustainable Community Designation

    A region of Southwest Baltimore County that encompassing areas in Arbutus, Lansdowne, Halethorpe and Relay is designated as a Sustainable Community by the State of Maryland fall 2021. This marks the ninth designation in Baltimore County and the 123rd designation in the state.

  • Progress

    2022: SWV is awarded a Community Legacy Grant from the State of Maryland. These funds will go toward projects outlined in the Sustainable Communities application.

    2023: Wrote FY2024 Community Legacy Grant; submitted CRAG grant application; exploring additional funding opportunities; exploring ways to engage with the greater Lansdowne, Baltimore Highlands, and Halethorpe communities.

  • Community Relations

    SWV is working with UMBC and the Patapsco Flotilla community on projects. Future partnerships and engagements are in the works.
